COVID-19: Business operating as usual, shop is open & we're available for installation + delivery.
Our average time to have orders ready for dispatch is between 9 and 11 weeks (because every door is custom made). Doors with lead lights or wrought iron inserts can take longer. Orders might also take longer due to circumstances out of our control like shipping/freight and customs release.
With all the doors we make, we make sure that we make them as environmental friendly as possible.
The wood we use comes from TFT and/or FSC certified suppliers. Also we recommend our customers to finish our doors with water based paints or lacquers.
Panels for doors that will be lacquered are made of solid Merbau (Kwila), for doors that will be painted they are made of external quality MDF.
With different door sizes, proportions of the door will change to our discretion unless proportions are discussed and mentioned on the order confirmation, when in doubt please request us a production drawing for final approval.
Freight costs quoted or invoiced are based on deliveries to the nearest freight depot when the delivery address details are not known in advance, home / business and island deliveries will in that case be at a surcharge.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international organization that brings people together to find solutions, which promote responsible stewardship of the world’s forests.
Our factory has been using FSC certified timbers for our environmentally aware customers for some time. Our factory itself has been certified for FSC Chain of Custody Certificate Code: TT-COC-003079 FSC License Code: FSC-C006344.
Being certified shows that the FSC products comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market.
If the material for the panels is not specified on ordering the door, it is up to the factory to decide if they use Merbau or MDF panels in the doors.
Almost every door can be factory made to be used in areas where the (Victoria) building standard BAL-LOW up to BAL-29 is applicable. This will mean an adjustment in the design of the door (if bush fire shutters are not used) as the bottom rail has to be 400mm high in 1 piece to comply.
For the doors with a glass opening, we strongly recommend to use laminated or tempered (toughened) glass. see below the difference!
